The Whitman House Restaurant is located in North Truro on Cape Cod at the corner of Route 6 and Great Hollow Road. We are situated on four acres of landscaped property with an abundance of parking. Owned and operated by the Rice family since 1962, the 175 seat restaurant opens every evening for dinner at 5pm. The original Inn was built in 1894 and has since developed into a restaurant with four distinctive Early American dining rooms. Adjacent to the restaurant in the original Truro schoolhouse can be found the largest display of Amish quilts in New England.
The Bass Tavern located at The Whitman House Restaurant in Truro is serving lunch (Memorial Day - Columbus Day) and dinner seven days a week. With angus burgers, fish & chips, chicken pot pie bread bowl, the freshest of native fish, a variety of salads and 25 other dishes, there is something for everyone.
